Kenya Nomads

Karibu Kenya! Welcome to Kenya!

You will (probably) arrive in Nairobi in the late evening. The shuttle to the hotel is included.

Your hotel is located close to the airport, ready for a good night rest before you start your adventure!

After breakfast, you will meet your dirver and start your journey through the scenic Great Rift Valley toward Lake Nakuru National Park.

Lake Nakuru is famous for its rich birdlife, acacia forests and strong populations of endangered white and black rhinos. In the afternoon you will enjoy our first safari!

After an (optional) morning game drive, you leave the wildlife-rich landscapes of Nakuru behind and travel south toward Maji Moto, a traditional Maasai community nestled in the hills bordering the Masai Mara ecosystem.

This experience offers a rare opportunity to connect with Maasai culture in a meaningful and authentic way. You can choose to do different activities that teach you about local traditions of the Maasai people (e.g. nature walk with animal tracking, warrior training, spear throwing, beading with the Maasai women or woodcarving with the men etc).

As the evening falls, you can gather around the campfire and enjoy the stars.

In the morning, you can still enjoy some activities in Maji Moto before you continue toward the Masai Mara: one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

Your overnight stay is close to the gate of the Masai Mara. Enjoy the quietness and the views of the savannah while you prepare yourself for a full day of safari ahead.

The Masai Mara is home to the Big Five: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino as well as vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, antelope, cheetahs, hyenas, and countless bird species. You can spend the full day exploring the wilderness of the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives.

After breakfast, you will depart the Mara and travel toward Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake surrounded by volcanic landscapes and wildlife.

In the afternoon, you can enjoy a peaceful boat safari (optional), gliding past pods of hippos and watching fish eagles dive into the water. The lake is home to an incredible variety of birdlife and offers a completely different safari atmosphere compared to the savannah reserves.

Or choose to go to Crescent Island (optional), where you can enjoy a walking safari among freely roaming zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, gazelles, and antelope against the backdrop of the lake and surrounding volcanoes.

In the morning, you can choose to explore Hell’s Gate National Park: one of Kenya’s most unique parks and one of the few where visitors can walk or cycle alongside wildlife. Ride past cliffs (or go climbing), gorges, zebra herds and giraffes while surrounded by stunning geothermal scenery.

Hell’s Gate’s dramatic landscapes famously inspired scenes from The Lion King, and the park’s rugged beauty feels truly cinematic. Visiting Hell’s Gate is optional and can be arranged on site.

Alternatively, you can choose to go climb Mount Longonot or enjoy a peaceful morning at the lake.

After lunch, you will start your journey towards Nairobi where you will be dropped at the hotel and say goodbye to your driver.

Today already marks your last day of the journey. You can still explore the bustling city of Nairobi before heading back home or to your next adventure. You can join the city tour let by former street kids (optional) or explore Nairobi and its surroundings on your own. The city has a lot to offer!

At the end of the day, you will head to the airport for you evening flight back home.

If you booked your flights with us, your shuttle back to the airport is included. If you booked your flights yourself, your shuttle is only included if you depart on the last day of your trip (Friday). Are you leaving on a different day? Then you will have to arrange the shuttle yourself.
